Port Charlotte offers a wide variety of activities, from cultural to sporting events. You have a choice of many diverse art galleries around town, or annual festivals and other fun events. Charlotte Symphony Orchestra offers year round classical music you can enjoy with your family and friends. If you are looking for an active day you can go to the harbor and fish, kayak, shop, sail, or snorkel.
Port Charlotte Beach is a great place to stroll along the Coast, it features a beautiful stretch of Shoreline that is open to everyone, also offering basketball, volleyball, tennis, horseshoes, a boat ramp, and a public pier. If you want to go to a beach with a boardwalk you can go north of Port Charlotte Beach to Englewood Beach. This beach is located near the Charlotte County and Sarasota County line. At this beach there is a large expanse of water combined with recreation areas, picnic tables, a boardwalk, a concession area, and many other things. Across from the beach are many restaurants, stores, and clubs. There are several fishing operations and charter boats in the bay of Englewood Beach.
If you own real estate in Port Charlotte or just visiting the area, there is a lot of shopping and dining available. Along the Bay there are many shops to check out, or you can go to the Port Charlotte Town Center Mall. If you are looking for more authentic items you can go to the Sun Flea Market to practice your bargaining skills. Seafood in Port Charlotte is always succulent and fresh, but you can easily find a wide variety of food in Port Charlotte. Many of the restaurants offer more than food, boasting entertainment, waterfront dining, live music, and other entertainment.

- Lemon Bay Golf Club - World-class golfing open to the public.
